Welcome to Hawkins

Hawkins Tee/Tote Pre-Order

For the first weekend of October, Jackson, Georgia, transforms into Hawkins. Halloween in a Small Town runs October 2 to 4, 2026, and visitors come from all over to walk through real Stranger Things filming locations right here downtown. Two original designs mark the occasion, and both give back to Butts County students.

The Upside Down Tote

Jackson or Hawkins? Around here, it’s a little bit of both.

The Upside Down Tote features an original design with JACKSON and HAWKINS flipped upside down, a nod to the small town that spends one October weekend as its famous alter ego. Whether you’re in town for Halloween in a Small Town, a longtime Stranger Things fan, or a Jackson local who loves watching this place get its moment, this is a souvenir with a story behind it.

Shop local, give local: 50% of the net proceeds from The Upside Down Tote will be donated to the Butts County Community Chamber Foundation to support scholarships for students in Butts County.

Pre-orders close Monday, September 21, and totes will be ready by October 1, ahead of the weekend.

The Upside Down Tee

If you’d rather wear it than carry it, the same design comes on a shirt.

The Upside Down Tee carries the original flipped JACKSON and HAWKINS design, made for the weekend downtown Jackson becomes Hawkins. It works just as well at Halloween in a Small Town as it does every other day of the year, and it’s the kind of thing people will ask you about.

Shop local, give local: the tee gives back the same way. 50% of the net proceeds will be donated to the Butts County Community Chamber Foundation to support scholarships for students in Butts County.

Pre-orders close Monday, September 21, and tees will be ready by October 1, ahead of the weekend.

Beginner Sewing Series

This class is for the person who has been thinking about sewing for a while and just needs a real place to start. Summer is the season to do it.

Four Saturdays. Four projects. You leave every single week with something you made yourself.

This is an intentionally small class, just 8 people, because learning to sew means you need someone next to you, not just in the room. You will get real, hands-on instruction from someone who genuinely wants you to learn.

Part of the fun is making it yours. Each project calls for fabric you choose yourself. A complete supply list is provided at registration so you can shop with confidence before the first class.

You will learn on your own machine. A limited number of machines are available to borrow if needed.

Your starter kit is included. No experience required. Just come ready to learn.

$225 includes four weeks of instruction and your starter kit. Limited to 8 participants.

Beginner Crochet
Start something by hand.

This April, I’m hosting a small-group beginner crochet class designed for those who have always wanted to learn but didn’t know where to start.

Over a relaxed, hands-on morning, we’ll walk through the foundations of crochet step by step—learning how to hold your yarn and hook, create basic stitches, and begin your first project in a calm, supportive setting.

This class is intentionally kept small to allow for guidance, questions, and a pace that feels comfortable. It’s not about rushing through a pattern—it’s about building confidence and understanding how the process works.

By the end of the class, you’ll have started your very own handmade piece and gained the skills to continue practicing at home, along with the tools and a printed guide to support you as you go.

Whether you’re completely new or just need a place to begin, this is a simple, welcoming place to start. It’s a simple place to begin—and a skill you can carry with you.

An American Quilt: A June Quilt-Along
Honoring 250 years, sewn by hand.

This June, I’m hosting a small-group quilt-along to mark a meaningful milestone—America’s 250th birthday—by making something lasting with our hands.

Over four Saturday mornings, we’ll create a classic throw-size quilt inspired by traditional American patchwork, featuring bold stripes and a striking star in a timeless red, white, and blue palette. The experience is intentionally paced and thoughtfully guided, allowing space for both creativity and completion.

This quilt-along is designed for sewists who want more than a single workshop—those who value craftsmanship, good instruction, and the satisfaction of finishing a well-made piece. By the end of the series, you’ll have a finished quilt ready to use, gift, or display for the Fourth of July.
